Telehealth Consultations and Exercise Sessions
Emma’s most recent accomplishment is her speedy upskilling in phone and online physio consults and exercise sessions. “ I have found this to be a very effective way of ensuring exercises can be done correctly. I have also found that Physio advice in this new platform can make all the difference when someone is in pain”.
Why did you choose to be a physio?
I’ve always been passionate about healthcare and wanted to work in a job where I can make a difference in people’s lives. I also really wanted to work in a career that kept me active instead of stuck behind a desk all day.
Why have you pursued training in Women’s Health?
I feel like there are a lot of conditions that women suffer from silently because they believe it is a normal part of life after babies or menopause and they are unaware that there are treatments out there to help manage them. I wanted to spread the word that help is out there and make sure women don’t have to suffer unnecessarily.
What do you like about Pilates?
My Pilates training has taught me to be much more specific in my exercise prescription with my clients. I generally include exercises in all of my treatments because it is one thing that clients can do for themselves to manage their condition. Pilates exercises also tend to be a bit more fun and creative than some more traditional physio exercises.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
Pilates! I think it’s very important to work on my own body if I expect to work on other people’s bodies. I also love to relax in the sun with friends and family.
