Why did you choose to be a physio?
I’ve always been passionate about healthcare and wanted to work in a job where I can make a difference in people’s lives. I also really wanted to work in a career that kept me active instead of stuck behind a desk all day.
Why have you pursued training in Women’s Health?
I feel like there are a lot of conditions that women suffer from silently believing it is a normal part of life after babies or menopause. Many are unaware that there are treatments out there to help manage these issues. I want to spread the word that help is out there and make sure women don’t suffer unnecessarily.
What do you like about Pilates?
Pilates has helped to broaden my physio toolkit, enabling clients to access more from their treatment with me. I generally include exercises in all of my treatments because it is something that clients can do for themselves to manage their condition. Pilates exercises also tend to be a bit more fun and creative than some more traditional physio exercises.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
Pilates! I think it’s very important to work on my own body if I expect to work on other people’s bodies. I also love to relax in the sun with friends and family.
