In a 1:1 and-or group setting Dance Physiotherapy Conditioning is so valuable for gaining a deeper understanding of how to use your muscles efficiently and how to elevate your performance to the next level. Dance conditioning incorporates strengthening exercises using pilates equipment like the reformer, cadillac, pilates chair and rotator discs. There is also a strong focus on resistance training and progressive ballet technique principles.

These sessions are focused around your goals as a dancer and key assessments are undertaken to ensure your progress is on track to becoming a strong and versatile performer.

Dance conditioning is suitable for dancers recovering from an injury and for those looking at preventing injuries occurring in the future.

Pre-pointe Assessments

Pre-Pointe Assessment focuses on preparing dancers for the demands of pointe work by assessing key areas of strength, flexibility, and technique. The assessment includes:

  • Foot and ankle strength
  • Turnout control and lower limb alignment
  • Core stability and posture
  • Balance and coordination
  • Flexibility in the feet, calves, hamstrings, and hips
  • Pointe range of motion and readiness

This assessment is crucial to ensure you’re ready to safely progress to pointe work, with individualized recommendations provided to address any areas needing improvement. The session includes a thorough physical examination, dance-specific tests, and exercises that highlight potential risks or areas for development.

The Pre-Pointe Assessment is designed to guide dancers on the safest path to pointe readiness, focusing on injury prevention and long-term success in pointe work.
