M.Phty, B.AppSc (ExPhys)(Hons), Certified APPI Pilates & Progressive Ballet Technique Instructor

Anastasia is an Exercise Physiologist and a Physiotherapist. She obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Physiology) and Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. Upon completion, she was awarded the University Medal and First-Class Honours Award for academic excellence.

”Treating dancers is my passion!” – Anastasia has a special interest for treating dancers and performing artists.

Anastasia attended a performing arts high school, danced competitively at National Level; this included training in commercial and classical dance styles. Being a performer and dance teacher, she understands first-hand the importance of Physiotherapy for dancers to prevent and treat injuries. She is experienced in treating lower-body injuries (foot, ankle & hip), back, and repetitive strain injuries. Anastasia has a whole body approach to treating and is confident in creating a plan for long-term success.

Anastasia is a member of International Association of Dance Medicine Science (IADMS) and is a part of the Dance Research Collaborative (DaRC). “My goal at all times is to be sure I use the latest clinical evidence to identify the root cause of injury or pain – this ensures the speediest recovery for all my clients.”

Do you treat clients who do not dance regularly?

“Absolutely! I have had further training in sports physiotherapy, paediatric physiotherapy and have a special interest in hypermobility and chronic pain. I find that the essence of treating pain integrates the fundamentals and baselines of dance: stability work, stretching, strengthening and then modifying this for each person, irrespective of their age or level of fitness.”

What are your current interests outside of work?

“Outside of work I lead a very active lifestyle and enjoy coastal hikes, pilates, swimming, rock climbing- and of course anything dance related!”
